Towns Near Breckenridge to Explore
Frisco

Only 10 miles away is the quaint town of Frisco, a 145-year-old mining town that offers various outdoor activities, charming restaurants, and amazing views. The Frisco Adventure Park offers fun for the whole family with sleigh rides, a 1,200 foot tubing hill, snowshoeing and more! Then take a stroll down Main Street and refuel at one of the many delicious restaurants. Try Vinny’s, a locals favorite offering homemade pasta and locally sourced ingredients or keep it casual at Ollies with a great burger and selection of beers on tap. Keep strolling down Main Street to see historic structures and artifacts at the Frisco Historic Park and Museum and experience the roots of this mountain towns culture.
Vail

Head west to Vail for a day of shopping and dining at one of the 250 shops or 100 restaurants throughout Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Experience great skiing, take part in the towns’ many events throughout the year, or enjoy a scenic gondola ride that will transport you above 10,000 feet and provide breathtaking views.
Georgetown

All aboard! Just a short drive down I70, take the family-friendly Railroad Loop from Georgetown winding up Clear Creek Canyon pulled by an old-time steam locomotive where you’ll pass remains of silver and gold mines. In town, enjoy the Annual Christmas Market and Hotel de Paris Museum or head up the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway. Trust us, it’s worth the drive.
Leadville

A little longer of a drive along the top of the Colorado Rockies Scenic Byway, you’ll find the historic mining town of Leadville surrounded by snow-capped peaks. More than 100 miles of groomed trails run throughout the county, perfect for snowshoeing, snowmobiling, or cross-country skiing. If you’re in town, don’t miss the annual Leadville Ski Joring Festival where skiers fly down Leadville’s downtown, pulled by horses as they soar over jumps and rings set up along the streets.
Hot springs

Okay we’re cheating on this one. But there’s nothing better than soaking and relaxing with friends and family in a natural mineral-rich hot springs. There are many to choose from that are within driving distance from Breckenridge; from natural creek-side pools to historic bathhouses to flowing springs.
