Race Rubber Ducks
On September 1st, the biggest annual fundraiser for The Summit Foundation happens along the riverbanks in downtown Breckenridge. Visitors and locals are welcome to purchase a tiny rubber duck to float down the river in order to win some awesome prizes. Get your rubber duck here!

Labor Day weekend means Sidewalk Sales on Main Street! Pick up outerwear, dresses and summer clearance items including bikes! 74 merchants are participating so there’s plenty of retail to choose from.
Browse Beautiful Artwork
The Great Divide Art Festival occurs over Labor Day weekend! This festival features over 100 artists with mediums including photography, wood, glass, jewelry, pottery and more. Stroll down Main Street at Wellington for viewing Saturday-Monday.
Go to the Local Farmers Market
Check out the Breckenridge Sunday Market from 9-2pm on Sunday for handcrafted and hand grown items, artwork and free children’s activities courtesy of the Mountain Top Children’s Museum. Also, at the Labor Day weekend market, there’s live music by Benjie West Music Progressive “JazzBluesGrass”
Take a Hike
The weather is gorgeous in Breck in September. Get outside and enjoy the milder fall temperatures, changing leaves and less-crowded trails. For easy hikes, check out Sawmill Trail, Spruce Creek, or Bakers Tank Trail. Moderate hikes include the popular Mohawk Lakes or McCullough Gulch. And for those looking for looking for a challenge, try the Summit County’s 14er, Mt. Quandary.
Indulge at the Crepe Stand
One of Breckenridge’s most visited Main Street spots is the iconic crepe stand. With a variety of sweet and savory crepes, you’ll find exactly what you’re craving. It’s a must stop, especially when you can smell it from a block away!
Get your Bike On
Road bike, mountain bike or fat tire bike! It’s the perfect biking weather this time of year so check out some of these trails while you’re here!
Mountain Biking Trails – Pence Miller Trail [0.7 miles], Tiger Road [6.5 miles], Sallie Barber Mine [9.5 miles]
Road Biking Trails – Blue River Recreation Path [7 miles in Breckenridge] Great for any level. Continue through Breckenridge to Frisco or all the way to Dillon if you’d like!
