Looking for something fun to do off the slopes while you’re here? Explore beautiful Breckenridge on snowshoes! We’ve put together a list of easy, family-friendly hikes.

Breckenridge Snowshoe Trails

5 of Our Favorite Breckenridge Snowshoe Trails:

BOREAS PASS ROAD

If you’re looking for a flat, simple trail with big views, Boreas Pass will not disappoint. This is one of my favorite locations in Breckenridge. The wide road overlooks town and Breckenridge Ski Resort. It’s a great place to catch the sunrise, sunset or any bluebird day.

BURRO TRAIL

Wanting to head out with the whole family? Burro trail is great for any age and any ability with little elevation gain. Immerse yourself in the pines and enjoy a flowing river along the trail while you hike.

SALLIE BARBER MINE TRAIL

With equipment remnants and interpretive signs, snowshoers can learn about Breck’s mining history along the trail. This one is quick and rewarding for adventurers of any age with flat, packed snow.

SOUTH ILLINOIS CREEK TRAIL

Great for kiddos and adults alike! This trail is one of the closest to town and offers beautiful views of Breckenridge along the way. Make sure to stop and say hi to the Troll before or after you park at Stephen C. West Ice Arena and start your hike. You’ll find him right off of the Trollstigen Trailhead. Just follow the Troll footprints from the parking lot!

FRENCH GULCH

For a laid-back hike with panoramic views, this trail is another great one. Snowshoe through an open valley alongside flowing creeks. If you’re lucky, you may spot a few foxes, or a moose!
