Stay At Slope View Chalet For Your Breckenridge Vacation
Slope View Chalet’s owners are Mizzou fans through and through. They make it to every home game and for the days in-between, family fur ball Truman the Tiger reminds them of the giant-sized Truman that stomps the field on those football Saturdays.
While they call Nebraska home and spend fall weekends in Columbia, Missouri, they long for adventure-filled escapes to Breckenridge, Colorado. Landing their now-beloved Chalet gives them a home to hang their skis, host family and friends, and share with other Breck-lovers looking to rent the perfect family gathering spot for long-lasting memory making.
How did you find Slope View Chalet?
We had not talked about buying a vacation home, but once we saw these contemporary looking units right on the edge of the town we love, within a few hundred yards of the gondola and with a view of the slopes, everything just fell into place.
What made this space special?
The design of the unit was already set, and it happened to work very well for our family. We especially loved the open concept. Everyone could feel connected but not crowded. The large, front window and deck showcase the incredible view of the mountain and ski slopes. The semi-secluded backyard hot tub and fire pit allow for cozy gatherings.
The interior design in the home is fun and light-hearted! Who gets the kudos for great style?
We found a local design firm, Pinnacle Design Studio, so we consulted them to help decorate our home. We wanted our home to have a contemporary feel and also wanted it to be comfortable and have nicer amenities. Lisa Yates and her team were great to work with. She presented us with tons of different options. Sometimes it was very difficult to pick certain items because we loved many of the selections that they presented to us. Lisa let us bring our own tastes to the interior, but she also encouraged us to step outside of our comfort zone. It was well worth it.
What design elements were outside of your comfort zone?
We tried to keep an open mind and find things that were a little unique but also very functional. For example, the purple couch in our den: we probably wouldn’t have picked a bright color like that on our own, but once we saw how much character it added to the space, we were so glad we did. We wanted to create a space that we would love to be in. We also wanted our guests to have wonderful experiences in the space. The extra decorative touches that the design team suggested really make the space unique and interesting.
What’s your favorite past time in Breckenridge?
We have three boys who are growing up quickly. So we love skiing as a family and just enjoy being in the outdoors together. Breck is the best place to ski, hang out and relax.
